Characterization of induction hardened and tempered AISI 1045 steel

In this investigation of AISI 1045 steel are tested in two stages. the first stage samples, induction boriding and hardening heat treatment typically 800 °C, 900 1000 1100 1200 °C applied over course seconds. Internal strains maybe mitigated using a 30 min tempering at temperature ranges 300 500 °Cand 700 °C. After that samples subjected to hardening, microhardness tensile strength according ASTM. The lowest hardness readings achieved between while maximum 685HV is reported after heating then cooling water. second involves treated with low-temperature plasma nitro-carburizing, its effects studied. specimens temperatures 430 NCr2is formed has an effect on corrosion resistance property. Increasing 450 raises surface approximately HV0.05. Treatment 400 results superior compared untreated steel. According experiments, materials increases increase temperature.
